Chris Burch: The Edge of Wildness

Christopher Burch is adding a new business venture to his business portfolio. He has entered the business of Hospitality. Burch and business partner James McBride bought property on the Indonesian island of Sumba in 2012. Together they spent $30 million in renovations on what was initially a hostel before reopening their five-star resort. Within a years time, the hotel was voted the best hotel in the world by Traval + Leisure in 2016. It has been nicknamed “the edge of wildness”. The hotel has 27 private villas. Burch has his own private home called the Raja Mendaka, which he also makes available to guests. It has a main house and four addition villas. Burch likes to spend his time between Nihiwatu and Miami.

Nihiwatu has been able to employ the most locals of the island than any other business, Because of its many attractions. The hotel offers horse back riding, surfing including lessons, pools that over look the sea, excursions to waterfalls, and so much more.

Burch is and investor and serial entrepreneur. He is the founder and CEO of Burch Creative Capital. He believes his creativity comes from his childhood and believes in the power of branding. He is the co-founder of the Fashion apparel brand, Tory Burch. Burch invests in businesses in a variety of industries. Burch doesn’t just invest in any business. His experience in the different industries has led him to the success he has today. Burch created Eagles Eye Apparel with his brother using $2000. They grew the business to $165 million before selling the company to Swire Group.
