Sujit Choudhry is Perfecting Governments

What do you do when you are a country who wants to draft a wonderful constitution that will lead your people to prosperity but you have no idea how to do it? You know that whatever you decide will impact your country for centuries to come. Would you be willing to make these decisions when you have such ignorance in your head? I know I wouldn’t.

Luckily for people like me, we don’t have to always be the ones that make those decisions. There are actually people out there who specialize in helping countries form constitutions that will help them be prosperous for years to come. One such person is Sujit Choudhry.

Sujit Choudhry currently serves as a professor at the University of Berkeley. He also is the dean of that California school in the Department of Law. In fact, he is their first-ever indian-american Dean.  Check for related article.

Prior to coming here, he received a graduate-level education in Harvard University and got his undergraduate degree from the University in Oxford, England. It was his wisdom from these institutions that made him the highly sought-after consultant that he is today.  Keep up-to-date with his latest work, hop over to this.

Sujit Choudhry has been instrumental in forming various countries constitutions. Some countries that Sujit Choudhry has been a part of are Jordan, Egypt, Sri Lanka, South Africa, and Libya.  Hit on for updates on his latest timeline activities.

These countries would actually go on to recommend him to the country of Ukraine, which is currently drafting its own constitution. On July 10th they invited him to come and be their guide and evaluate their first draft. Luckily for them, he read it over, and he found some glaring weaknesses. He informed them that they had confined the office of the presidency too much and that he was unable to do his job. He showed them that their electoral system actually favored a certain group of people so that all voters were not equal. He also told them that the political parties they had were running extremely weak candidates and that the people were losing faith in democracy.  For further reference, head over to

It was only after they took his suggestions that their constitution began to work correctly.
