The president and chief operating officer of global food processing giant the OSI Group is Iowa native David McDonald. McDonald has been with the company for over three decades. He was hired right out of Iowa State University when he completed his bachelor’s degree in animal science in 1987. McDonald grew up on a farm, had an interest in biology and a natural understanding of the food processing industry. Nearly 43 years ago, Mr. Lavin, green to the food services industry, entered the business in hopes of merely helping to build a partnership between a growing company and an international powerhouse, but instead became involved in what would become his most significant claim to fame.
